Basil Hayden Bourbon

Introduced in the early 1990s, Basil Hayden is a light bodied bourbon with double the rye content of regular Jim Beam. Name for Meredith Basil Hayden Sr., a pioneer and master distiller, Basil Hayden has a perfect balance between the sweetness from the corn, and the spicy flavor of the rye. This is what gives Basil Hayden a much broader appeal, then some of the other marks in the Beam Small Batch Bourbon Collection. Basil Hayden comes off the still between 110-120 proof (50-60% ABV), and enters the barrel at the same proof. After around 8 years of maturation, the bourbon is bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV).
